The 12 Session Method

To get started you will require a consultation, full evaluation, exercise program & 12 exercise sessions. This is how it works: 

 

1. The first appointment will be a once off FULL assessment. This is required before you start an exercise or rehabilitation program. Here I will assess your posture, joint range of motion, muscle strength, proprioception & functional movement patterns. This helps me to prescribe exercises that are specific to your individual needs.

2. Next I will write a personalised exercise program based on the findings from the evaluation as well as your goals

3. We follow this up with 12 exercise sessions lasting 45-60 min). This so that you can master the exercise techniques before you go it alone (if you choose to do that) and also so that we can make solid progress and start seeing results fast.

4. Training for the

Once you have completed the 12 Session Method you can choose to KEEP GOING.

 

This includes a new exercise program & 12 exercise sessions.

 

I love it when you see results and start to feel better and additional exercise session are always a pleasure.

 

Now that we have resolved the major problem we can continue the momentum, build more strength and freedom of momentum and address secondary issues.

Small group walking & exercise session

Once you have completed the 12 Session Method another option is to keep the momentum and improve your health, fitness, strength and mobility even further, in a group setting.

 

This moderate intensity exercise session is suitable for anyone who wants to get started or maintain a regular exercise routine.  

 

In order to join this group you must complete the 12 Session Method. This is so that we can work on your personal health and injuries and so that you can master the exercise techniques before joining the group.

 

These 45 to 60 minute sessions are 2 x/week and  include walking, mobility, strength and stretching exercises that will help you move better and  be healthy. 

 

This is for you if you are serious about improving your health, fitness & quality of life.

Rapid Recover Sessions

If you have lymph drainage problems, water retention or sluggish circulation or if you are an active sports person and you want  to recover from your workouts FAST, this is for you.

 

 

No assessment necessary. Free consultation included.

 

 

These sessions use  pneumatic compression boots. So it’s a relaxing lie worn for you while the boots do their job and boost your circulation.

 

 

These sessions can also  be of value in addition to your injury rehabilitation exercise sessions.

 

Session lasts 30 min.

Cancellations

Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are charged for.

Invoices

I am contracted out, so I don’t submit invoices/ claims directly to the medical aids, but I will provide you with an invoice, that includes all the necessary codes, that you can submit to your medical aid at the end of the month if you choose to do so.

Please bring the following with you to your assessment:

  • Any doctors letters or referral note
  • Recent test results such as blood lipid or glucose tests, x-rays or MRI scans
  • A list of all the medications that you take regularly
  • Your ID & medical aid card 
  • You will be sent an informed consent document. Please read it, sign it and send it back digitally or bring a print out
  • A water bottle & sweat towel

Please wear comfortable shorts and t-shirt.

Yes. Most medical aid cover Biokinetics services.

 

Please check with them directly how much they will  pay and where it will be paid from e.g. savings, day-to-day benefits etc. so that you can make an informed decision. 

 

At the end of your sessions/ end of the month, I will give you an itemised invoice will all the relevant codes on and you can submit it to your medical aid to claim back. I am contracted out, so I don’t submit any claims to medical aids. You need to settle your account with me directly and then claim from your medical aid.

I must do a full evaluation to see exactly where the problems are and how I can help you. Once I know that, there are a number of exercises that need to be prescribed becuase the body is a kinetic chain and what happens in one area of the body can affect several other areas. So, in order for me to guide you and teach you how to do the exercises correctly and safely with good technique more that once session is required. In my 22 years of experience as a Biokineticist, I have found that the 12 session Method is enough time for you to learn, see progress, reduce the pain and give you confidence to do the exercises on your own.
